CONVENTIONAL MILLING MACHINIST

Responsibilities:

• Read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, charts, tables and study sample parts to determine machining requirements
• Follow established procedures and work instructions
• Plan and determine the most efficient sequence of machining operations
• Perform precision, non-repetitive machining operations such as gear cutting
• Able to handle various machining operations, including turning, milling, boring, planing, drilling, precision grinding, and other operations
• Perform machine troubleshooting and periodic preventive maintenance
• Perform risk assessment and take corrective actions as well as preventive measures
• Deburr and polish fabricated parts after machining
• Conduct quality control and regular inspections of produced components to confirm they adhere to required specifications and tolerances
• Maintain day to day 6S lean activities to create a safe work environment
• Work cross-functional to support various manufacturing processes
• Perform other technical tasks as assigned by Management

Requirements:

• Diploma or NITEC in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent
• 3 years experience in operate conventional machining with general inspection skills
• Comfortable with hands-on work to operate with the tools and equipment
• Meticulous with an eye for details and adopts a hands-on approach
• Candidate without relevant experience but keen to learn will also be considered
• Hardworking, organized, responsible, and able to work independently
• Possess a positive work attitude and eager to learn new skills
• Possess good communication skills
• Able to read and interpret mechanical drawings and specifications
• Ability to understand basic technical instructions and standard operation procedures (SOP).
• Able to work under tight schedules and meet production deadlines
• Able to work overtime when required
• Able to do shift work when required shift allowance will be provided
