Our client, a reputable Japanese manufacturing company, is looking for a Control Systems Engineer to support plant automation initiatives. This role involves designing, implementing, and maintaining control systems to ensure safe and efficient plant operations.
You will report directly to the Manager and work closely with cross-functional engineering teams.
Responsibilities
- Design, implement, maintain, and validate safety-critical control systems for plant automation.
- Support the design, build, installation, and commissioning of automation equipment.
- Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues related to control systems and electrical components.
- Collaborate with software and mechanical engineering teams to ensure seamless system integration.
- Contribute to testing and commissioning activities to ensure equipment reliability and functionality.
- Ensure compliance with industry standards, safety requirements, and documentation practices.
- Perform other duties as assigned by management.
(Main-care Knowledge)
- Knowledge in Control Systems Design, Safety Compliance Documentation, Electrical Engineering Concepts and Applications.
- Knowledge in PLC Programming, I/O Addressing and Industry Standard Communication (e.g. modbus, TCP/IP, EtherCAT).
- Knowledgeable and proficient in SolidWorks Electrical and/or AutoCAD LT.
- Strong coding skills in C++, C# and Visual Basic.
- Demonstrated ability to diagnose and resolve issues through effective troubleshooting.
- Experienced in sourcing electrical components and possess strong technical knowledge.
Requirements & Preferences
(Must)
- Diploma or Degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, or a related field.
- At least 2 years of experience in Factory Automation, Material Handling Systems, or Conveyor Systems.
- Minimum 2 years of experience in machine programming from scratch.
- Able to interpret electrical diagrams and control panel designs.
- Fluent in English to communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders.
- Willing to work extended hours in a cleanroom environment when required.
- Willing to travel overseas for project support on short notice when necessary (occasional).
(Advantageous)
- Experience in SCADA programming will be an added advantage.
