Job Summary
Manage contract administration and commercial matters for construction projects, ensuring compliance, resolving disputes, and supporting project teams to achieve timely and accurate contract execution.
Responsibilities
- Review tenders and contracts to ensure clarity and compliance with project requirements
- Address contractual issues with authorities promptly to maintain project progress
- Lead contract meetings with authorities to resolve claims and disputes effectively
- Participate in meetings to identify and resolve commercial and contractual challenges
- Identify and serve notices related to variations, additional payments, and delays to Engineer/ED/ER, and follow up on cost and time claims including drafting related correspondence
- Interpret contractual obligations, responsibilities, and liabilities, providing guidance to project teams as needed
- Prepare and review outgoing correspondence to LTA, authorities, subcontractors, suppliers, and consultants to ensure accuracy and professionalism
- Update the Planning Manager regularly on all contractual matters to maintain project transparency
- Prepare variation order submissions and final accounts to support financial closure of projects
- Monitor timely submission of variation claims and receipt of valuation certificates to ensure financial accuracy
- Track and report contract status to stakeholders for informed decision-making
- Review contract documents to manage and ensure contractual compliance and conformance throughout the project lifecycle
- Communicate clearly and effectively with all team members to facilitate smooth contract administration
- Analyze contract terms and conditions to ensure compliance with laws, regulations, and company policies
- Troubleshoot contract-related issues, including breaches, to minimize project risks
- Establish and maintain a project variation control system and manage negotiations aligned with contract requirements
Required competencies and certifications
- Minimum 5 years of relevant construction industry experience
- Diploma in Quantity Surveying, Building, or a related discipline
- Experience working on Commercial or Mixed Development Projects
