The Technology Platform Business Manager plays a critical role within the Strategic Business Planning & Financials Management. The position encompasses both Technology Platform Business Management and Program/Project Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A) responsibilities.
Key Responsibilities
1. Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A) - Build Financials
- Ensure the Technology Build Financials are wellorganised, accurate, and compliant with corporate accounting policies, governance standards, and statutory requirements.
- Produce timely and accurate management accounts, forecasts, variance analysis, and monthly financial reporting packages.
- Analyse financial data to understand platform performance, spending patterns, and cost drivers, identifying variances and key business impacts for senior leadership.
- Support the Head of Build Financial Planning & Cost Recovery with budget formulation, planning cycles, internal cost recovery models, and financial stewardship activities.
- Manage financial processes including accruals, reclasses, recharge management, MJEs, fungibility, and budget transfers for technology build/run portfolios.
2. Strategic Business Planning & Technology Governance
- Act as a strategic partner to technology, operations, and business teams, enabling alignment between technology delivery, financial strategy, and organizational goals.
- Support board and senior leadership reporting, including preparation of presentations, dashboards, and financial insights.
- Drive financial operational excellence through the documentation of best practices, policy adherence, and ongoing enhancements to cost transparency and governance.
3. Program / Project Financial Management & PMO Partnership
- Partner with Program and Project Managers to support planning, resource allocation, budget controls, and financial governance across technology initiatives.
- Facilitate crossteam communication to ensure timely sharing of best practices, actions required, and consolidated project financial views.
- Support PMO operations such as report consolidation, workforce onboarding/offboarding, organizational chart maintenance, SharePoint/Confluence administration, and coordination with stakeholders across hiring managers, HR, and vendor partners.
4. Workforce, Vendor & Contract Governance
- Handle workforce planning, FTE/vendor reporting, skillset tracking, and manpower cost management for technology teams.
- Oversee vendor management, including contract lodgement, renewals, PO/invoice tracking, and ensuring compliance with procurement and internal control requirements.
- Maintain trusted relationships with key vendors to assure delivery performance and contractual adherence.
5. Operational Excellence & Analytics
- Provide adhoc financial modelling, cost analytics, and business performance insights to support leadership decisionmaking.
- Maintain repositories of best practices for major cost categories and operational processes.
- Lead the creation and refinement of structured reporting processes, dashboards, and financial performance indicators for Consumer Banking Technology.
Skills & Competencies
- Strong experience in financial planning & analysis, management accounting, budgeting, forecasting, and technology financial governance.
- Deep understanding of technology operations, workforce models, platform cost structures, and vendor ecosystems within banking.
- Excellent stakeholder management, crossfunctional coordination, and communication skills.
- High proficiency in tools such as PSGL, Hyperion, SharePoint, Confluence, JIRA, and advanced Excel.
- Strong analytical thinking, attention to detail, and ability to work independently under pressure.
