Job Description

Key Responsibilities

Contract Administration & Commercial Management

  • Manage and administer construction contracts in accordance with contract terms and conditions
  • Review, negotiate, and advise on contractual matters with clients, consultants, and subcontractors
  • Ensure timely submission and assessment of progress claims, variations, and final accounts
  • Identify potential risks contained
  • Educate employees to be familiar with various contracts, implementation of proper contract administration

Procurement & Subcontract Management

  • Ensure subcontract agreements align with main contract requirements
  • Manage and administer subcontracts

Tender review

  • Review tender documents, identify embedded risks, and propose effective countermeasures/mitigation strategies.
  • Prepare and review draft of proposal conditions

Claims & Dispute Management

  • Prepare, review, and manage claims related to variations, extensions of time, and loss & expense
  • Support dispute resolution processes, including negotiations, adjudication, or arbitration in collaboration with legal section when required
  • Maintain accurate records to support contractual entitlements

Reporting & Stakeholder Management

  • Prepare regular commercial reports, forecasts, and management updates
  • Advise project management teams on contractual rights, obligations, and compliance
  • Liaise with internal stakeholders, clients, consultants, and legal advisors as necessary

Project Close-Out

  • Manage final account negotiations and settlement with clients and subcontractors
  • Ensure proper contractual close-out and documentation at project completion

Requirements

  • Degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, Law, or related discipline
  • Minimum 812 years of relevant experience in construction contract and commercial management
  • Strong knowledge of standard forms of contract (e.g. SIA, PSSCOC, FIDIC)
  • Proven experience in managing claims, variations, and dispute resolution
  • Good understanding of local construction practices
  • Excellent negotiation, communication, and analytical skills
