Job Summary
We are seeking a detail-oriented Contract & Commercial Manager to lead construction contract lifecycles. You will protect company interests by negotiating terms, ensuring compliance, and managing financial health of large-scale projects across Singapore and multiple countries.
Responsibilities
- Lead contract negotiations with clients in collaboration with the Business Development team to secure favorable terms.
- Review, draft, and interpret complex legal and technical contract clauses to identify and mitigate project risks.
- Oversee project budgets, control costs, and manage financial reporting throughout project lifecycles by liaising with Project Managers and Directors to resolve budget, cash flow, and commercial issues.
- Manage contract variations, extensions of time (EOT), and claims to ensure fair compensation and resolve disputes effectively.
- Ensure all project activities comply with local regulations, safety standards, and corporate governance policies.
- Serve as the primary liaison for legal and financial queries between project teams and external partners, facilitating clear communication and issue resolution.
Required competencies and certifications
- Expertise in contract and commercial management with 5-10 years experience, preferably in construction, mechanical installation, or engineering contracts.
Preferred competencies and qualifications
- Proven negotiation skills to influence stakeholders and close high-stakes agreements.
- Strong analytical skills to identify hidden risks within technical terms and conditions.
- Financial literacy including proficiency in cost estimation, budget management, and commercial forecasting.
- Degree in engineering, commercial, contract management, or related field.
