Job Summary
We are seeking a Contemporary Dance Instructor to deliver high-quality contemporary dance technique classes and choreograph competitive solo and troupe pieces, contributing to student development and the school's artistic excellence.
Responsibilities
- Deliver contemporary dance technique classes that develop students technical skills and artistic expression to prepare them for performances and competitions
- Design and choreograph original solo and troupe dance pieces that showcase students strengths and meet competition standards
- Collaborate with students to refine choreography and performance skills, ensuring readiness for competitive events
- Apply professional dance experience and pedagogical techniques to foster student growth and engagement in contemporary dance
- Adapt teaching methods to accommodate diverse student skill levels and learning styles, promoting inclusive participation
Required competencies and certifications
- Possess a minimum of 2 years of contemporary dance teaching experience
- Demonstrate experience choreographing students for competitions, including solo and troupe pieces
- Hold at least a Dance Diploma or Bachelor's Degree in any field
- Maintain a minimum RAD Intermediate Certificate of Achievement or equivalent dance diploma or performing experience with a professional dance company
- For full-time roles, hold RAD CBTS or an equivalent qualification
Preferred competencies and qualifications
- Hold CBTS (RAD) certification
- Possess a dance degree qualification
- Have performing experience with a professional dance company
- Have at least 1 year of teaching experience in the RAD syllabus
