About the Role
CIMB Singapore is looking for a Consumer Marketing Director to lead integrated marketing strategy and execution across our Consumer Banking portfolio, including wealth, deposits, cards, loans, bancassurance and other consumer banking products.
This is a leadership role for a commercially minded marketer who can balance brand-building with performance, influence across functions, and deliver measurable business impact at scale.
You will lead a team, partner closely with product, digital, and analytics stakeholders, and shape how CIMB acquires, engages, and grows its consumer customer base in Singapore.
What You'll Do
Consumer Marketing Strategy & Growth
- Lead end-to-end consumer marketing strategy across consumer banking, aligned to acquisition, engagement, and revenue objectives.
- Translate customer insights, data, and market trends into integrated marketing plans across brand, digital, CRM, and experiential channels.
- Identify and develop partnership, collaboration, and platform opportunities to drive incremental growth and customer engagement.
- Own annual marketing planning and budget management, ensuring effective allocation, optimisation, and ROI discipline.
Integrated Campaign Leadership
- Oversee the development and execution of integrated marketing campaigns from strategy through delivery and post-campaign optimisation.
- Balance long-term brand equity building with short- and mid-term performance outcomes.
- Ensure consistency of messaging, tone of voice, and customer experience across segments and touchpoints.
- Act as brand guardian, ensuring adherence to CIMB's brand identity and communication standards.
Business Performance & Stakeholder Management
- Partner with senior stakeholders across product, digital, analytics and compliance teams to deliver business KPIs.
- Drive cross-sell and up-sell initiatives across the consumer banking ecosystem.
- Track and report campaign effectiveness, customer impact, and commercial outcomes.
- Lead agency and vendor relationships to ensure high-quality delivery and cost efficiency.
People Leadership
- Lead, coach, and develop a team of consumer marketing professionals.
- Set clear performance expectations, provide regular feedback, and build strong bench strength within the team.
- Foster a high-performance, collaborative culture with a strong sense of ownership and accountability.
Governance & Risk Management
- Ensure all marketing activities comply with regulatory requirements, internal policies, and approval frameworks.
- Stay abreast of regulatory and industry developments impacting marketing and customer communications.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Business, Communications, or a related discipline.
- Minimum 12 years of relevant marketing experience, preferably in banking, financial services, fintech, or consumer brands.
- Proven experience leading integrated marketing strategies that deliver measurable growth outcomes; be prepared to be hands-on.
- Strong commercial acumen with experience managing marketing budgets.
- Demonstrated ability to influence senior stakeholders.
- Prior people leadership experience, with a track record of developing high-performing teams.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English; additional language capability in Chinese is an advantage.
- This role reports to the Head of Marketing and Corporate Communications, Singapore.
