Job Description

About the Role

We are looking for a Construction Supervisor with broad mechanical experience to oversee day-to-day mechanical, plumbing, fire protection, HVAC, and associated building services works. The role covers supervision of installation activities, coordination of services routing and interfaces, review of work sequencing, support for testing and commissioning, and management of quality, safety, and subcontractor performance across multiple disciplines. This role suits candidates with solid industrial site experience who can drive safe execution, coordinate stakeholders effectively, resolve site issues, and support system completion and handover.


Job Responsibilities

  • Overseeing Daily Operations: Supervise daily construction activities. Review method statements, risk assessments, permit requirements, and work packs before work begins to ensure site conditions are ready and controlled. Attend mock-up, site acceptance, inspection and progress meetings.
  • Safety Compliance: Ensure all safety regulations and building codes are strictly followed to maintain a safe working environment. Participate in safety audits and daily toolbox meetings.
  • Communication: Maintain clear, regular communication with stakeholders to keep them informed of site progress. Work closely with stakeholders to support coordination and execution. Support preparation of weekly construction progress reports.
  • Quality Control: Inspect work to ensure it meets the project's specifications and quality standards.
  • Coordinating Subcontractors: Manage and coordinate theactivities of subcontractors.
  • Problem-Solving: Identify, escalate, and resolve construction issues, including design clarifications, routing clashes, interface constraints and testing dependencies, in coordination with relevant stakeholders.
  • Testing and Commissioning: Involved in system testing and commissioning activities, including line checking, pressure testing, flushing, reinstatement, and readiness for system handover.
  • Handover: Punch list management, turnover dossiers, andhandover processes.

Job Requirements:

  • ITE / NTC / Higher NITEC / Diploma in Mechanical Engineering, Construction, Building Services, or a related discipline.
  • Candidates with relevant trade qualifications and strong site-based construction experience may also be considered.
  • Minimum 5 to 10 years of relevant construction supervision or site coordination experience.
  • Potential opportunities for senior role are available.
  • Familiarity with biopharma, life sciences, data centre or semiconductors will be an additional advantage.
  • Good understanding of construction site operations, work sequencing, and subcontractor coordination across project activities.
  • Good understanding of piping/ducting installation methods, spool erection, supports, valve installation, utility routing, and subcontractor sequencing.
  • Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, specifications, method statements, and inspection requirements.
  • Working knowledge of safety practices, permit controls, quality requirements, and applicable site procedures.
  • Familiarity with line checking, pressure testing, flushing, reinstatement, punch list management, turnover dossiers, and handover processes.
  • Clear and effective communication with project teams, subcontractors, and stakeholders.
  • Well-organised, disciplined, and able to manage multiple site activities in a structured manner.
  • Proactive in resolving site issues and able to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Strong teamwork, coordination, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Detail-oriented with a strong commitment to safety, quality, and timely delivery.
  • Good understanding of local authority requirements, site procedures, and applicable construction standards.
