Job Description

The Site Manager is responsible for overseeing all on-site construction activities to ensure projects are completed safely, on time, within budget, and according to quality standards. The role involves coordinating with subcontractors, suppliers, consultants, and clients while managing manpower, materials, and equipment. The Site Manager ensures compliance with safety regulations, contract specifications, and company policies, while maintaining effective communication with stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities
Site Operations Management

  • Supervise and manage daily site activities to ensure works progress in accordance with the approved schedule, drawings, and work program.
  • Coordinate and manage subcontractors, suppliers, and site personnel to ensure smooth and efficient site operations.
  • Ensure materials, equipment, and resources are available, properly stored, and utilized in accordance with project requirements.

Safety, Health & Environmental Compliance

  • Enforce full compliance with the Workplace Safety and Health Act (WSHA), applicable safety regulations, site safety rules, and company safety policies.
  • Conduct regular site safety inspections, toolbox meetings, and safety briefings.
  • Report, investigate, and document accidents, incidents, and near-misses promptly in accordance with company procedures and legal requirements.
  • Stop unsafe work practices and escalate safety issues to management where necessary.

Quality Control & Workmanship

  • Monitor construction works to ensure compliance with approved drawings, specifications, quality standards, and contractual requirements.
  • Identify, report, and rectify defects or non-conformities promptly, and implement corrective and preventive actions.
  • Coordinate with Quality Assurance / Quality Control teams, consultants, and inspectors for inspections and approvals.

Progress Monitoring, Reporting & Documentation

  • Monitor site progress and productivity, and prepare accurate daily, weekly, and monthly site reports.
  • Identify potential delays, risks, or deviations and propose mitigation measures to management.
  • Maintain accurate and complete site records, correspondence, instructions, and communications, which may be subject to inspection by management or authorities.

Resource, Cost & Productivity Management

  • Manage site manpower allocation, productivity, and attendance.
  • Coordinate logistics for timely delivery of materials, equipment, and plant.
  • Monitor site costs and resource usage and highlight potential overruns or inefficiencies.

Stakeholder Communication & Coordination

  • Liaise effectively with clients, consultants, project managers, subcontractors, and other stakeholders on site matters.
  • Facilitate and attend site meetings, briefings, and coordination sessions.
  • Address and resolve site-related issues promptly and professionally.
  • Diploma or Degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or related field.
  • Minimum 3-5 years of site management experience in construction projects.
