Job Summary
The General Foreman is a pivotal leadership role on the construction site, acting as the primary link between the field workforce and project management. You will be responsible for directly supervising crews, coordinating daily activities, ensuring the highest standards of safety and quality, and driving project milestones to successful completion. The ideal candidate is a proactive problem-solver with a proven track record of leading by example.
Responsibilities
- Plan, implement, and manage construction tasks aligned with project priorities and goals to ensure timely completion
- Assign specific tasks to construction workers to optimize workforce productivity and project flow
- Develop and maintain employee and project schedules to coordinate resources and activities effectively
- Supervise and train workers to enhance skills, ensure compliance with safety standards, and improve work quality
- Assess and allocate manpower and resources to meet project demands efficiently
- Enforce all safety precautions and quality standards to maintain a safe and compliant work environment
- Manage and guide the operation of machinery and equipment to maximize efficiency and safety
- Monitor project expenditure and control costs to keep the budget within approved limits
- Oversee construction activities and progress, planning and monitoring work to meet deadlines
- Schedule tasks in accordance with the master and detailed work programme to ensure smooth workflow
- Identify, analyze, and resolve technical and engineering problems promptly to avoid delays
- Conduct site inspections to maintain quality standards and address technical issues in a timely manner
- Closely supervise ongoing site activities to ensure adherence to plans and standards
Required competencies and certifications
- Excellent knowledge of construction operations and equipment
- Familiarity with blueprints
- Experience in building construction works
