Job Description
- Overseeing and directing construction projects from conception to completion
- Reviewing the project in-depth to schedule deliverables and estimate costs
- Overseeing all onsite and offsite constructions to monitor compliance with building and safety regulations
- Setting targets, objectives, and responsibilities for all supervised staff
- Dealing with contracts and mitigating the impact of any issues
- Ensuring the delivery of high-quality work within contract timescales
- Proactively identify new opportunities to further expand the company's business or projects by utilizing all available resources
- Ensures that the project is constructed and documented in accordance with the contract documents and good engineering practices
- Provides technical support to site supervisors
- Monitor construction productivity and schedule performance and investigate reasons for less than satisfactory performance
- Provide recommendations and institute measures for improvement by a modification to operating procedures or work instructions
- Reviews weekly and monthly reports on the status and progress of the contracts, including project costs and potential changes
- Reports the status of projects to business and market leaders
- Attend client program meetings as needed
- Responding to any defects and delays with a backup plan;
- Directing the purchase of construction materials
- Respond to work delays, emergencies, and other problems
- Undertake any other duties assigned by management from time to time
- 6 working days per week
Requirements:
- Possess the educational qualification of at least of bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent
- At least 10 years of relevant working experience and expert knowledge of construction management in the construction industry
- Familiarity with construction management software packages
- Working in construction site due to project requirements
- Have a sense of urgency and confidence to thrive under pressure from various sides of internal parties and also external parties due to budget constraints of specific projects within stringent deadlines
- Able to attend to any emergency call due to project needs even on weekends or beyond office hours
- Solid grasp of building compliance and safety regulations
- Strong negotiation, analytical and problem-solving skills for any occurrence of emergencies incident which may be out of the control
- Strong leadership skills
- Competent in conflict and crisis management
- Ability to multi-task
- Willing to travel island-wide to oversee multiple projects
