Responsible that the project complies with Corporate EHS objectives & metrics, at the project level
Dual reporting relationship to Project Manager and Head of Building Construction when assigned to a project
Responsible for the Construction Team manpower planning and allocation of job roles and responsibilities, technical guidance, mentoring, monitoring and evaluating performance
Responsible for ensuring the construction team is trained and understands the project requirements (schedule, quality and priorities) and individual responsibilities when signing Company and authority forms and procedures
Ensures effective coordination between construction, Engineering and planning activities within the team
Responsible for regular reporting of the construction status
Attends the following weekly Client meeting, weekly EHS meeting, weekly internal project meeting, relevant tender meetings, sub-contractor kick off meetings, Authority meetings and inspections, HAZOP meetings where applicable, weekly Risk meeting, constructability and buildability reviews
Conducts the following meetings weekly site safety walk, construction review meetings, weekly Mon/Wed/Fri contractors coordination meetings, weekly sub-contractor progress meetings
Responsible for reviewing and approving or sourcing and dictating, construction sequence methodology and construction material suitability, constructability and safety in design reviews
Responsible for all construction site activities and the coordination of the work and sequencing for all trades including identification, evaluation, and resolution of construction problems
Responsible for the project construction scope of works from commencement to handover, is completed to approved plans and specifications within the schedule, to the required contractual quality, and within the budget related to his remit
Responsible for reviewing and approving all lifting plans and construction plant and equipment for suitability Responsible for ensuring all construction team members are fully trained and understand the EHS procedures and requirements of individual work activities
Responsible for maintaining the construction site and temporary works to authority and code requirements, where this does not conflict with EHS duties and responsibilities
Commercial performance of project in relation to construction activities and complies with commercial FI process
Fully conversant with the requirements and responsibilities as set out in MOM guidelines and Acts, where this can be used to settle identified conflict between corporate and government responsibilities, if any.
Display & promote the organization's Corporate Ethics and Leadership principles
Assume Project Manager's day to day responsibilities should the Project Manager is not full time on site
Package owner for selected temporary / prelim packages
Review relevant tender packages pre-bid / post bid
Maintain, update & follow project specific construction related SOP's
Responsible of managing general workers on site in the absence of Site Manager.
Job Requirements:
Bachelor's Degree in Construction Management or Civil/Structural Engineering
Diploma holders with additional 2 - 3 years experience unless equated with professional certifications
9 - 11 years relevant experience
Experience in the implementation of different construction methods including RC precast and cast in situ structure and steel framed building construction
Previous project experience in microelectronics, semi-conductor and pharmaceutical construction projects
Experience in the coordination of all disciplines during a typical construction project
Further experience of external works and various external architectural finishes is desirable
Good knowledge of construction planning, scheduling and construction administration activities
