Key Responsibilities
Develop the Site EHS & Security Plan with Project Manager, Develop the Labor retention Plan with Project Manager and EHS-leader, assist the Project Manager to develop Project Master Schedule, and to establish the Project Construction Schedule Plan.
Develop the Mechanical completion check & Commissioning plan, provide inputs on Project Close-out Plan to Commercial Manager, Arrange and Chair the Project Turnover Meeting for each key sub-contracting package (kick-off meeting), Manage the overall site in a clean/efficient environmental, and maintain all site temporary infrastructures, such as, site access, temporary power, temporary water and temporary lights etc. in a safe and proper operational condition.
Oversee the construction team in ensuring compliance with the contract documents, including the oversight of quality control and conformance to specifications.
Pre-qualification for sub-contractors and vendors. Participate in the contractor's key staff interview and reference site visit, as well as factory inspections. Review Sub-contracts and Purchase Orders and verify cost codes and certify invoices for payment
Ensure the timely processing of shop drawings and required submittals, Review, grade and assign all incoming RFI's to the reviewers for completion.Maintain RFI log with up-to-date information and ensure timelines for responses are being met. Maintain Change Log and ensure that approved changes are processed in a timely manner
With input from the construction team determine quantities of work-in-place for Cost Reports, reviewing those quantities with the Project Manager, when required to do so
With assistance from the construction team perform Quality Control functions. Verify the use of specified and/or approved materials, as well as in original specified, mix designs, certifications, commissioning, and other project components and system
With the assistance of the construction team, work package owners, develop and maintain updates of the overall project schedule. They will evaluate job progress, in regards to schedule, and will track each Sub-contractors and Supplier's success in accomplishing target dates and deadlines. When such dates are not met, the Construction Manager will require actions to be taken to maintain the schedule, including an acceleration or recovery schedule. The Project Manager shall be notified when such actions may impact safety and / or cost and / or quality
Ensure that the construction team is in compliance with critical work area procedures as required
Requirements
BS degree or master's degree in mechanical engineering or biological engineering with minimal 10-year experience in management of new construction and retrofit projects.
Knowledge of site development and industrial construction techniques, permitting, and inspections. Working knowledge of applicable building, sanitary, electrical code standards and scheduling methods.
Knowledge of construction methods and technologies, and ability to interpret technical drawings and contracts.
Proven successful EPCM management experience with PE license is preferred.
Must work in a self-motivated, highly flexible, well-organized, and detailed-oriented style with requirement of some evening conference call time.
Must be able to wear appropriate PPE, ability to stand/Sit/walk for long periods of time.
