Job Description

Key Responsibilities

  • Formwork Assembly: Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and specifications to determine the dimensions, layout, and materials required for formwork.

  • Building & Erection: Construct and install timber, metal, or prefabricated formwork panels for foundations, walls, columns, beams, and slabs accurately and securely.

  • Alignment & Bracing: Align, plumb, and brace forms using plumb bobs, laser levels, and framing squares to ensure structures remain straight and stable under heavy concrete loads.

  • Stripping & Dismantling: Safely strip, dismantle, and clean formwork panels and scaffolding components after the concrete has cured sufficiently, minimizing material damage for reuse.

  • Material Management: Measure, cut, shape, and assemble wood, plywood, steel, and other materials using hand tools and power tools (saws, hammers, drills, nail guns).

  • Site Safety: Adhere strictly to all site safety regulations, wear required personal protective equipment (PPE), and ensure workspaces are kept clean and free of hazards.

    Job Requirements & Qualifications

    • Experience: Minimum of 2 to 4 years of hands-on experience in construction formwork, carpentry, or concrete support systems.

    • Technical Skills:

      • Proficiency in reading and interpreting construction blueprints, floor plans, and technical drawings.

      • Strong working knowledge of various formwork systems (traditional timber, system formwork, metal/aluminum frameworks).

      • Competency in using hand and power carpentry tools safely and efficiently.

    • Physical Fitness: High level of physical stamina and strength. Ability to lift heavy loads (up to 25 kg / 50 lbs), stand for long periods, bend, climb, and work at heights or in confined spaces.

    • Certifications:

      • Prefer to have valid construction safety orientation certificate (e.g., OSHA, BCSS, or local equivalent).

      • Certification in working at heights and operating specialized equipment (if applicable).

    • Soft Skills: Good teamwork, strong attention to detail, and the ability to follow strict instructions from site supervisors and project managers.
