Component Engineer (Data & Analytics)
Overview
Be thego-to expert for component and material data, turning complex datasets into actionable insights. This role ensures high-quality master data across systems while supporting engineering, supply chain, and manufacturing decisions through analytics and automation.
KeyResponsibilities
- Build and maintain data pipelines (SQL/Python/APIs) connecting PLM, ERP, supplier platforms, and external databases
- Analyse component attributes (electrical, mechanical, lifecycle, cost, lead time, supplier performance) to detect risks and inconsistencies
- Drive data quality initiatives including cleansing, validation rules, and automated checks
- Assess BOMs and material trends to identify obsolescence and supply risks
- Develop dashboards (e.g. Power BI/Tableau) for cost, lifecycle, and supplier insights
- Collaborate cross-functionally to improve cost, lead time, and supplier performance
- Work with IT to streamline data flow, system setup, and integration
- Maintain data standards, documentation, and best practices
Requirements
- Degree in Electrical/Electronic Engineering, Materials, or related field
- Minimum 3 years experience in component engineering, master data, or analytics within a hardware environment
- Solid understanding of electronic components and supplier landscape
- Hands-on experience with BI tools (Power BI/Tableau) and data tools (SQL Python preferred)
- Familiar with BOM structures, engineering change processes, and PLM/ERP systems (e.g. SAP/Oracle)
- Strong analytical mindset with attention to detail and data governance focus
- Able to manage projects and work across multiple teams
