About the Team

The International Engineering team is a core R&D force behind Xiaohongshu's global expansion, carrying the mission of bringing Xiaohongshu to users worldwide. Unlike mature businesses built on continuous optimization, we face a true greenfield — under the complex constraints of multiple languages, regions, and regulatory regimes, we are building from scratch a global architecture spanning multi-region deployment, together with a data compliance platform that powers our global business, keeping the business well-governed, fully transparent, and clearly accountable under multiple regulatory frameworks.

Going global is a complete redesign. We rebuild data pipelines and infrastructure under compliance constraints, connecting users across languages and cultures. And as AI redefines content communities, we explore intelligent technology through an AI-Native R&D paradigm — turning AI into the bridge across language, geographic, and compliance divides.

We offer a true 0-to-1 stage: hyper-scale global scenarios, engineering problems with no standard answers, and a group of peers who insist on doing the right thing amid uncertainty while relentlessly pursuing code quality and system stability.

Job Responsibilities

1. Deeply participate in the design and evolution of Xiaohongshu's global multi-region architecture; develop a solid understanding of product strategy and compliance constraints, and own the full lifecycle from system architecture design and core coding to final launch;
2. Build a data compliance platform from 0 to 1, covering core products such as the Data Asset Dictionary, Cross-Border Gateway, Third-Party Gateway, and RoPA/DSR, providing unified data compliance infrastructure for global business;
3. Embrace the AI-Native R&D paradigm: leverage AI to cross technical boundaries, independently deliver full-stack development spanning frontend, backend, and data infrastructure, and grow across technical domains;
4. Drive the exploration and engineering implementation of intelligent capabilities in real compliance scenarios (e.g., sensitive data identification, intelligent auditing, compliance Q&A);
5. Collaborate closely with legal, security, product, and other cross-functional partners; proactively identify compliance and experience pain points from an engineering perspective, driving system evolution and architecture upgrades.

Job Requirements

1. Bachelor's degree or above; majors in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Artificial Intelligence, or related fields preferred;
2. Solid computer science fundamentals, including data structures, algorithms, networking, and operating systems. Proficient in at least one mainstream programming language (Java/Go preferred), with excellent coding standards and engineering discipline;
3. Strong technical curiosity and fast learning ability; a heavy daily user of AI tools to assist development and solve complex problems, able to quickly master unfamiliar technical domains;
4. Passionate about data compliance and privacy protection; familiarity with regulatory frameworks such as GDPR, or hands-on experience with gateways, middleware, data governance, or platform development is a plus;
5. Strong ownership and self-drive with rigorous logical thinking; able to see through the surface of business problems to their essence, results-oriented, and effective at driving projects to delivery in complex collaborative environments.
