Role
We're looking for an experienced Compliance Officer to join our global Legal & Compliance team in Singapore, reporting directly to the Chief Legal & Compliance Officer.
This is a senior, hands-on role combining responsibility as our Singapore compliance lead and Money Laundering Reporting Officer (MLRO) with a broader remit supporting payments and financial-services compliance across our global business.
You'll work closely with Legal, Product, Payments, Operations, Finance, Technology and Security to translate regulatory requirements into practical, scalable controls as we launch new products, develop payment capabilities and expand into new markets.
This is an opportunity to play a key role in shaping our approach to payments and financial-services compliance as the business continues to grow across multiple markets.
What you'll do
Global Compliance & Regulatory
- Develop and implement payments and financial-services compliance frameworks across existing and new markets.
- Provide regulatory and compliance guidance on new products, payment flows, business models, partnerships and market expansion.
- Support licensing, authorisation, exemption and other regulatory workstreams.
- Monitor regulatory developments and assess their impact on the business.
- Work with local counsel, compliance teams and external advisers on jurisdiction-specific requirements.
Singapore Compliance & MLRO
- Act as the in-country compliance lead for Singapore.
- Maintain the Singapore regulatory and AML/CFT framework.
- Oversee regulatory reporting, submissions, inspections and regulatory queries.
- Engage with regulators, auditors, banks, payment providers and other financial-services partners.
- Act as the MLRO and oversee the management of financial-crime risks.
AML/CFT & Financial Crime
- Maintain and continuously improve the Singapore AML/CFT and financial-crime framework, while supporting the development of broader global compliance standards.
- Oversee KYC/KYB, beneficial ownership, sanctions screening, customer risk assessments and enhanced due diligence.
- Oversee transaction monitoring and the investigation and escalation of material financial-crime alerts.
- Ensure appropriate suspicious transaction reporting and financial-crime governance.
- Keep the framework aligned with evolving products, customers, payment flows and regulatory requirements.
Business & Product Partnership
- Partner with Product, Payments, Operations, Finance, Technology and Security teams to identify and manage regulatory risks.
- Review new payment flows, products, currencies, jurisdictions and operating models from a compliance perspective.
- Help design practical and scalable controls that meet regulatory requirements.
- Support compliance due diligence for banks, payment providers and other strategic partners.
What you'll bring
- Based in Singapore, with the right to work locally.
- 7+ years of experience in compliance within regulated financial services, payments, fintech, banking or a similar environment.
- Strong knowledge of the Singapore MAS regulatory framework, particularly payments and financial services.
- Significant hands-on experience in AML/CFT and financial crime, ideally as an MLRO, AML/CFT Compliance Officer or in a similar capacity.
- Strong understanding of payment products and domestic and cross-border payment flows.
- Experience in cross-border payments, payroll, e-money, multi-currency or contractor-payment products.
- Experience building or scaling compliance frameworks in a live operating environment.
- Experience supporting regulatory licensing, authorisation and regulatory-change workstreams.
- Strong knowledge of KYC/KYB, beneficial ownership, sanctions, transaction monitoring and financial-crime risk management.
- Experience working with regulators, auditors, banks and financial-services partners.
- Strong analytical, communication and stakeholder-management skills.
- Ability to operate effectively across multiple jurisdictions and work with senior stakeholders.
- Ability to exercise sound judgement and provide practical, commercially minded compliance advice.
- Must meet the standards expected of a fit-and-proper person for senior compliance and financial-crime responsibilities.
- ACAMS, ICA or an equivalent AML/compliance qualification.
Why this role
This is a high-impact opportunity for a compliance professional who enjoys working in a fast-growing, global fintech environment and wants to combine hands-on Singapore regulatory ownership with broader global compliance responsibilities.
You'll work closely with senior leadership and cross-functional teams while helping shape scalable compliance practices across multiple markets.
