About the Role

Techtanium is looking for an experienced Chief Compliance Officer (CCO) to lead and oversee the company's compliance, AML/CFT, sanctions, regulatory, and financial crime risk frameworks. Based in Singapore, this is a senior leadership position with direct exposure to the Board, senior management, regulators, and global banking partners. The CCO will ensure that Techtanium operates in accordance with applicable laws and licensing requirements across its entire suite of financial services.

Responsibilities

1. Compliance & Regulatory Framework

·       Develop, implement, and maintain Techtanium's overall compliance framework and internal controls.

·       Ensure adherence to payment, financial services, digital asset, and data protection regulations.

·       Monitor global regulatory developments and assess their impact on Techtanium's business model.

·       Provide strategic compliance advice on new products, market entries, and business initiatives.

·       Support regulatory licensing applications, renewals, and ongoing reporting obligations.

2. AML/CFT & Financial Crime

·       Own and oversee Techtanium's AML/CFT program and customer risk assessment frameworks.

·       Manage KYC/KYB, customer due diligence (CDD), and enhanced due diligence (EDD) processes.

·       Oversee risk-based transaction monitoring, sanctions, PEP, and adverse media screening.

·       Ensure appropriate investigation, escalation, and reporting of suspicious activities (STRs).

3. Digital Asset & Web3 Compliance

·       Develop specialized compliance frameworks for blockchain-related activities and stablecoins.

·       Establish controls for crypto/fiat on-ramps/off-ramps, digital wallets, and virtual accounts.

·       Implement wallet screening, blockchain transaction monitoring, and Travel Rule protocols.

·       Evaluate risks associated with counterparties, liquidity providers, and virtual asset service providers.

4. Payments & Merchant Compliance

·       Establish compliance standards for merchants, PSPs, and banking partners.

·       Oversee merchant onboarding, risk classification, and ongoing monitoring.

·       Manage controls for prohibited businesses, chargebacks, fraud, and cross-border payment risks.

5. Governance & Stakeholder Management

·       Act as the primary point of contact for regulators and relevant authorities.

·       Provide regular compliance and financial crime risk reports to Techtanium's senior management and Board.

·       Coordinate internal and external compliance audits and manage the remediation of any findings.

·       Review compliance provisions in commercial agreements and conduct due diligence on third-party partners.

6. Compliance Culture

·       Promote a risk-based compliance culture rather than a purely checklist-driven approach.

·       Lead AML/CFT, sanctions, and compliance training programs for all Techtanium employees.

Skills Required

·       Experience: 8–12+ years in compliance, AML/CFT, or regulatory roles within banking, fintech, or digital assets.

·       Leadership: Proven track require in a senior compliance leadership position (e.g., CCO or MLRO).

·       Regulatory Knowledge: Deep understanding of AML/CFT, KYC/KYB, sanctions, and international financial crime controls.

·       Communication: Excellent stakeholder management skills with the ability to balance regulatory requirements with commercial objectives.

·       Analytical Thinking: Strong judgment and the ability to navigate complex cross-border regulatory landscapes.

·       Certification: Professional compliance certification (e.g., CAMS, ICA, ACAMS, or equivalent) is preferred.

Skills Preferred

Experience in one or more of the following areas will be highly regarded:

·       Payment Institutions: Merchant acquiring, PSPs, or remittance/money services.

·       Digital Assets: Crypto exchanges, wallets, custody services, or stablecoins.

·       Advanced Tech: Proficiency with blockchain analytics, wallet screening tools, and automated transaction monitoring systems.

·       Banking & Licensing: Experience with regulatory licensing applications and managing virtual account frameworks.
