Key Responsibilities

  • SoW/SoF Verification: Conduct end-to-end evaluations of complex client wealth trajectories by corroborating evidence against client backgrounds and operating structures.

  • Compliance Advisory: Provide expert guidance to Relationship Managers on structuring clear SoW narratives, gathering acceptable supporting documentation, and managing PEP, sanction, and adverse media risks.

  • Governance & Committee Defense: Prepare and present complex, high-risk client profiles and SoW narratives to local Risk Committees for onboarding, recertification, or account unblocking decisions.

  • Monitoring & STR Handling: Monitor high-risk profiles to ensure ongoing transactional activity aligns with verified SoW, leading internal investigations and filing Suspicious Transaction Reports (STRs) when anomalies arise.

  • Regulatory & Policy Alignment: Conduct gap analyses on regional regulatory updates (e.g., MAS, HKMA) regarding CDD and SoW standards to refine internal policies and regional guidelines.

  • Controls & Audit Support: Execute local Financial Security controls, maintain onboarding and recertification tracking, and support internal and external audit reviews on file quality.

  • Front Office Training: Deliver targeted training to Front Office and Client Management teams on SoW documentation standards, red flags, and regional wealth management compliance initiatives.

Requirements

  • Experience: Proven experience in KYC, AML/CFT compliance, or CDD within Wealth Management, Private Banking, or Family Office environments.

  • SoW Expertise: Strong ability to analyze, challenge, and reconstruct complex corporate structures, multi-jurisdictional holdings, and wealth-generation narratives.

  • Regulatory Knowledge: Deep understanding of domestic regulatory frameworks (e.g., MAS) and exposure to regional/international regulations (e.g., HKMA, FATF standards).

  • Technical Skills: Hands-on proficiency with financial/tax document verification, transaction monitoring, sanction/PEP screening tools, and STR reporting procedures.

  • Stakeholder Management: Excellent communication and advisory skills to challenge the Front Office constructively and present risk assessments clearly to senior management.

  • Analytical Mindset: Exceptional attention to detail and critical thinking skills to detect red flags and connect historical wealth origin with transactional patterns.
