Job Description

About WhereWeBegin

WhereWeBegin (WWB) is a founder community and media platform built for step zero. Most communities and accelerators meet founders at step one, once there's already a company, a product, or traction. WWB exists before that: for the person with an ambition but no roadmap, sitting with more questions than answers. We're the starting line, not the race.

About the Role

As a Community Engagement Volunteer, you will play a key role in bringing the WWB community to life. Working closely with the founders, you'll help plan, organise, and execute events that create meaningful connections between aspiring entrepreneurs, founders, and builders.

From coordinating logistics and managing community initiatives to engaging partners and sponsors, you'll help ensure that every WWB experience is thoughtfully designed and well-executed. You'll also support the growth and engagement of our online communities, helping foster conversations and connections beyond our events.

Responsibilities

• Plan and coordinate community events, workshops, networking sessions, and other WWB initiatives

• Reach out to potential partners, sponsors, and collaborators to support events and community activities

• Assist with event logistics, including venue coordination, guest management, scheduling, and on-site operations

• Manage and moderate WWB's Telegram community channels

• Develop and execute community engagement initiatives to encourage participation and interaction

• Support attendee communications before, during, and after events

• Gather feedback and insights from community members to improve future experiences

• Work with the team to brainstorm and implement new ideas for community growth

What We Are Looking For

• Current university or polytechnic students, or individuals passionate about community building and entrepreneurship

• Must be currently based in Singapore

• Able to commit part-time, with availability for in-person events when required

• Strong communication and interpersonal skills

• Organised, detail-oriented, and comfortable managing multiple moving parts

• Enjoy meeting new people and building relationships

• Proactive, resourceful, and willing to take initiative

• No prior experience required — enthusiasm and willingness to learn matter most

What You Will Get

• Hands-on experience in community building, partnerships, and event management

• Opportunities to work directly with founders, entrepreneurs, and industry professionals

• Exposure to the behind-the-scenes operations of a growing startup community

• A front-row seat to building meaningful experiences that impact aspiring founders

• Letter of Recommendation (if suitable)

• Flexible arrangements outside of event days

Please Note

This is an unpaid volunteer role designed for individuals looking to gain practical experience, build their network, and contribute to a growing entrepreneurship community.
