Job Description

The Communications team at NUH drives the hospital's branding, communications and stakeholder engagement efforts. We shape stories that showcase our people, strengthen organisational culture, and raise awareness of key initiatives that advance healthcare and patient care.

As a Communications Trainee, you will gain hands on experience in campaign development, storytelling, content creation and stakeholder engagement. You will work on projects that reach diverse audiences across the organisation, patients and the public, while contributing to initiatives that preserve and celebrate NUH's heritage.

Key Responsibilities:

Staff Engagement and Campaigns (40%)

• Research audience insights, industry trends and best practices to enhance staff engagement initiatives

• Contribute ideas for campaigns and content that showcase NUH's people, achievements and culture.

• Develop content and storytelling materials across internal and external communications platforms

• Work with stakeholders to coordinate campaign deliverables and timelines

• Track campaign outcomes, gather feedback and identify opportunities for improvement

Heritage (40%)

• Conduct research on NUH key figures, milestones and historical developments

• Develop campaign ideas that bring NUH's legacy to life

• Conduct interviews and formulate interview questions to capture meaningful stories, experiences and institutional milestones

• Curate, organise and support the digitisation of archival materials to manage heritage repository

Communications Support (20%)

• Develop and refine content for patient-facing, internal and external communications

• Partner departments to develop stories and content for communications platforms, including social media

• Identify opportunities to profile departments, programmes, and initiatives

• Review content to ensure clarity, accuracy and alignment with NUH's brand guidelines

• Support other communications projects, as assigned

Role Requirements

• Strong writing, communication and storytelling skills

• Good project management, organisational and coordination skills.

• Detailed-oriented with the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines

• Proactive and eager to learn

• A collaborative team player who enjoys working with diverse stakeholders

• Proficient in Microsoft Office applications

• Experience in any of the following would be an advantage:

o Interviewing, profiling or feature writing

o Canva or other design tools

o Photography

o Videography

o Any web content management system (CMS), e,g SharePoint
