Commodity Product Control

Company Background:

Our client is a physical commodity trading house and is looking to hire a product controller to support their trading business in APAC

Responsibilities

• Support the day-to-day operations of the trading desk, maintaining accurate position summaries for traders and, where applicable, consolidating data across the trading matrix.
• Monitor trading positions and exposures, ensuring risks are documented and calculated consistently.
• Track futures contracts approaching expiry and identify hedging requirements in consultation with traders.
• Provide commentary on daily profitability reports, explaining P&L movements through a strong understanding of trading activity, exposures and relevant market developments.
• Deliver management information and decision support to traders, including reporting, modelling, and trading and market analysis.
• Support additional desk activities, including rolling storage positions, where required.
• Contribute to internal projects and new business setup, working closely with MIS and IT teams to support reporting and system requirements.

Required Qualifications

• Team player
• Disciplined process mindset
• Proven ability to operate effectively in a matrix organization.
• Bachelor's or Master's degree with emphasis on (business) management or economics.
• 5-12 years of experience in controlling, financial markets etc.
• Strong IT background/knowledge. Experience with Tableau, Python and VBA is an distinct advantage.
• Deep understanding of derivatives processes, including the role of brokers, exchange, clearers, etc.
