Strategy: Implement and support the development of the commodity strategy, derived from the overarching functional strategy, to provide the PI-specific optimal supplier base. Based on the selection of qualified suppliers in Asia, the Commodity Groups are managed, and procurement activities are monitored for strategy compliance.
Supplier Portfolio: Identify potential suppliers, participate in decisions regarding onboarding new suppliers, define the number of suppliers to be used, manage supplier master data, and oversee supplier classification throughout the supplier lifecycle in coordination with Global Commodity Management.
Supplier Management: Manage and actively maintain supplier relationships through regular information exchange and annual meetings with the aim of expanding important business relationships. This includes international supplier visits, negotiating annual volumes and capacities, as well as conducting supplier audits together with SQM. Acts as an escalation point in case of supplier issues, leads negotiations, initiates measures if needed, and provides recommendations to Global Commodity Management for strategy adjustment.
Risk Management: Conducts ongoing monitoring of procurement and supplier risks, identifies and evaluates action options, coordinates the implementation of chosen actions, assesses their impact and reports status to Global Commodity Management.
Savings: Based on savings target specifications, identifies and evaluates action options (develop savings plan), coordinates implementation of selected actions (monitor savings plan implementation) and assesses their impact (create savings report).
Supplier Transfer Projects: Project responsibility for supplier relocations. Initiates comprehensive supplier relocations, considering strategic, cost, performance and risk aspects.
Contract Negotiations: Determines the terms of cooperation with suppliers based on written contracts and negotiates them.
Commodity Management Support represents the PI Group as a customer towards suppliers and acts professionally.
