Commodity Broker Physical & Derivatives | Oil, Energy, Metals, Agri (APAC)

Location: Singapore (APAC)

Also available: Sydney, Perth, London, US, Copenhagen, Geneva, Dubai

Compensation: Competitive draw + commission (based on book)

Imperium Commodity Search is exclusively retained by a global market-leading energy and commodities brokerage, operating across more than 20 countries worldwide, to recruit experienced Commodity Brokers to join their established APAC brokerage team, ideally based in Singapore.

The firm is widely recognised for its scale, liquidity and depth of open interest across physical and derivative commodity markets, providing brokers with immediate access to market flow, long-standing institutional relationships and a highly collaborative multi-asset platform.

This opportunity is suited to experienced commodity brokers, either individually or as part of an existing team, looking to leverage a global infrastructure while retaining autonomy over their client relationships and revenue generation.

The Role Commodity Broking (Physical & Derivatives)

We are seeking experienced Commodity Brokers with a proven track record in either physical or derivative commodity markets to support continued growth across the APAC region.

The role focuses on broking swaps, forwards, options, futures and physical contracts, servicing a diverse institutional client base while developing new business across energy and commodity markets. Brokers may also collaborate with or provide coverage across adjacent desks where appropriate.

Key Responsibilities

  • Maintain and develop long-standing client relationships while driving new business development to grow desk revenues
  • Provide high-quality trade execution services across physical and/or derivative commodity contracts
  • Service industry majors, trading houses, funds, institutional investors and market makers
  • Deliver timely market analysis, pricing, spreads and commentary across your specialist commodity markets
  • Utilise research platforms such as Bloomberg and Reuters to inform execution and client discussions
  • Identify new opportunities aligned with desk and group strategy, including emerging markets, products and trends
  • Work closely with internal on-boarding and compliance teams to open new lines and ensure regulatory adherence
  • Actively pursue cross-selling opportunities across the firm's extensive commodity and energy asset coverage

Experience & Skills Required

  • Minimum 3+ years experience as a Commodity Broker within an IDB, brokerage or FCM environment
  • Strong product expertise in one or more of the following:
  • Oil & Gas
  • Energy & Power
  • Metals & Mining
  • Agricultural Commodities
  • Proven track record in trade execution and client management across multiple client types
  • Transferable relationships with trading houses, majors, funds, institutional clients or market makers
  • Commercially driven with strong communication and relationship-building skills
  • Comfortable operating in a high-volume, performance-led brokerage environment
