What's the Job

As a Commis Cook, you will support the kitchen team in preparing and delivering high-quality dishes according to established recipes and standards. You will assist the chefs in maintaining food quality, hygiene standards, and efficient kitchen operations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare food according to established recipes, portion sizes, and quality standards

  • Assist in the preparation, presentation, and storage of dishes

  • Ensure all food preparation complies with food safety, hygiene, and health regulations

  • Prepare ingredients, equipment, and materials needed for service

  • Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the work area

  • Support senior chefs in daily kitchen operations

  • Communicate effectively with supervisors regarding operational issues or guest feedback

  • Participate in daily briefings, meetings, and training sessions

  • Follow hotel policies and procedures including health & safety, hygiene, and grooming standards

  • Assist with other kitchen duties or special tasks as assigned

What We're Looking For

  • Minimum 1 year of relevant kitchen experience or formal culinary training

  • Possession of valid food hygiene / food handler certification

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced kitchen environment

  • Good teamwork and communication skills

  • Positive attitude with a passion for food and hospitality
