COMMIS CHEF

Job Summary

We are seeking a motivated and enthusiastic Commis Chef to join our kitchen team. This is an excellent opportunity for someone passionate about food and eager to learn from experienced chefs in a dynamic environment.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Chef de Partie and kitchen team with daily food preparation to ensure timely service
• Perform basic cooking tasks including chopping, peeling, marinating, and mise en place to support kitchen operations
• Store, label, and rotate ingredients properly to maintain freshness and reduce waste
• Maintain clean and organized workstations following hygiene and safety standards to ensure a safe kitchen environment
• Support kitchen workflow during service to help maintain smooth operations
• Learn and apply culinary techniques under senior chefs guidance to develop cooking skills

Preferred competencies and qualifications

• Prior kitchen experience or culinary school training is preferred but not mandatory
• Strong interest in cooking and eagerness to learn new culinary skills
• Ability to follow instructions accurately and collaborate effectively within a team
• Good time management skills and attention to detail
• Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and public holidays
