To strengthen our commercial excellence in the sales phase, we are looking for an experienced Commercial Sales Manager who acts as a trusted business partner to our sales organization and ensures financially sound and competitive offers.

Your role - what really matters

As Commercial Sales Manager, you are responsible for the commercial steering of opportunities during the sales and bidding phase, ensuring that offers are competitive, compliant and financially robust.

This is an individual contributor role without direct people management responsibility, focused on commercial leadership and business partnering in the sales phase.

You work closely with Sales, Bid Management, Engineering, Legal and Compliance teams to develop winning proposals while safeguarding Siemens financial and business interests.

Your key responsibilities include:

  • Commercial ownership of sales opportunities from bid preparation to project booking and handover
  • Driving offer pricing, costing and margin optimization, ensuring competitiveness while protecting profitability
  • Ensuring compliance with internal approval frameworks, pricing governance, and risk assessment processes
  • Performing commercial risk and opportunity assessments and ensuring proper risk mitigation strategies within offers
  • Structuring commercial terms & conditions, including payment milestones, cash flow optimization and contract frameworks
  • Challenging and validating cost calculations, assumptions and business cases together with the bid team
  • Supporting negotiations with customers on commercial topics in close alignment with Sales, Legal and Compliance
  • Ensuring accurate documentation and transparency for management decision-making (e.g., bid approvals, deviation cases)
  • Acting as a business partner to Sales, providing guidance on deal structuring, pricing strategies and financial implications

What you bring

You are a commercially driven professional with strong business acumen and the ability to balance growth ambitions with financial discipline.

We are looking for:

  • Solid experience in commercial sales support / bid management / sales finance / Commercial Project Management (Sales phase)
  • Strong expertise in pricing, costing and financial modeling of offers
  • Good understanding of risk and opportunity management, contract structuring, sales governance and approval framework
  • Proven ability to work on complex bids in a cross-functional environment
  • Strong analytical skills combined with a pragmatic, solution-oriented mindset and proactive approach to problem-solving
  • Confident negotiator with high integrity and strong compliance focus
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced sales environment
  • University degree in business administration, finance, economics or a comparable field
  • Commercial Project Management or similar certification is an advantage
  • Confident communication skills and ability to challenge stakeholders constructively and influence decision-making
  • Business-fluent English experience in an international environment is an advantage
