Job Summary

Lead and manage the Commercial team to drive tendering, contract compliance, and client relationships. Oversee reporting, subcontractor management, and support operational teams to ensure successful project delivery and commercial outcomes.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and oversee the Commercial team to ensure effective tendering and contract management processes
  • Prepare, review, and present KPI reports, monthly HOD reports, and monthly Commercial reports to track team and project performance
  • Review and update Commercial Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) to maintain operational efficiency and compliance
  • Collaborate with the CEO to evaluate incoming RFQs and assign them appropriately to the Commercial team
  • Support the Commercial team throughout the tender process, ensuring all RFQ technical, regulatory, and commercial requirements are met
  • Manage billing processes to ensure compliance with terms specified in Purchase Orders (PO) and contracts
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with clients and develop new business contacts to expand commercial opportunities
  • Participate actively in daily and weekly Commercial meetings to align team efforts and project goals
  • Handle complaints and disputes by negotiating settlement agreements to resolve issues effectively
  • Maintain and update key commercial databases including Inquiry Masterlist, Quotation Masterlist, Subcontractor Masterlist, QS Server Folder, and ERP systems for accurate record-keeping
  • Prepare handover documentation for awarded tenders to ensure smooth project transitions
  • Update and contribute to Weekly Integrated Meetings to coordinate cross-functional activities
  • Review and approve Purchase Orders (PO) and Work Orders (WO) raised by the Supply Chain Management (SCM) team
  • Source, select, and review subcontractors in collaboration with the Operations team to ensure quality and compliance
  • Assist in raising change orders during the construction stage to manage project scope adjustments
  • Support the Operations team by preparing Service Reports as requested
  • Perform any other ad-hoc duties assigned by the CEO to support business objectives

Required competencies and certifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Quantity Surveying, or a related field
  • Minimum 8 years of experience in commercial management, contracts, or procurement
  • Proven leadership experience managing commercial teams
  • Strong expertise in tendering, RFQ evaluation, and contract negotiations
  • Proficient in compliance management, financial reporting, and ERP systems

Preferred competencies and qualifications

  • Certifications related to contract management, procurement, or project management (e.g., MRICS, PMP)
