Commercial Manager

Job Description

We are seeking an experienced and commercially driven Commercial Manager to join our Singapore office. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and managing commercial opportunities in the shipping industry, with a focus on chartering, cargo development and business growth.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain business relationships with shipowners, charterers, cargo interests and other industry partners.
• Identify and develop new business opportunities in dry bulk and general cargo markets.
• Manage and negotiate commercial and chartering arrangements.
• Monitor market trends, freight rates, cargo flows and competitive activities to support business decisions.
• Coordinate with internal teams and overseas offices to develop suitable shipping solutions and maximize commercial opportunities.
• Prepare commercial proposals, market analysis and business reports.
• Follow up on existing accounts and ensure effective customer relationship management.
• Support the company's business development and long-term commercial strategy.

Requirements

• Diploma or Degree in Shipping, Maritime Studies, Business, Logistics or a related discipline.
• Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in shipping, chartering, ship broking or commercial business development.
• Strong knowledge of the dry bulk and/or general cargo shipping market.
• Good commercial, negotiation and analytical skills.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Able to work independently and manage multiple commercial activities.
• Willingness to travel when required.
• Proficiency in English knowledge of other Asian languages would be an advantage.
