What You'll Be Doing
You will take ownership of growing sales revenue and ensuring team targets are consistently met. This role sits at the heart of our client relationships - from first contact to invoicing - and demands someone who takes pride in both precision and partnership.
- Build and nurture client relationships through proactive, regular outreach - turning accounts into long-term partnerships, not just transactions
- Manage your client portfolio strategically by segmenting and prioritising accounts, ensuring your time and energy are directed where they matter most
- Deliver accurate, competitive quotations in response to client RFQs, balancing speed with thoroughness to win business without leaving margin on the table
- Own the quote-to-order lifecycle - follow up diligently, negotiate commercially, and ensure every client order is translated into an error-free internal Sales Order, including any amendments
- Coordinate order execution by liaising with Purchasers and relevant teams, keeping fulfilment on track and clients informed
- Maintain sales order integrity by confirming quotations, releasing Sales Orders promptly, and ensuring invoicing details are accurate before issue
- Represent the company in client visits when required, strengthening relationships and identifying new opportunities on the ground
- Handle commercial complaints professionally, resolving issues swiftly while protecting both client trust and company interests
- Contribute to team excellence by sharing client insights, market knowledge, and best practices - raising the bar for the whole team
- Support business initiatives by taking on ad-hoc management projects as needed
What We're Looking For
- 2-3 years of experience in a commercial or sales role exposure to a similar industry or trading environment is a strong advantage
- Excellent communicator and relationship builder - you're comfortable on the phone, in meetings, and via email, and you know how to listen as well as persuade
- Sharp negotiation instincts with the confidence to hold your ground commercially while keeping relationships intact
- Analytical and opportunity-driven - you can read a situation, spot a gap, and move quickly to act on it
- Detail-oriented - you catch errors before they become problems, especially when it comes to orders, amendments, and invoices
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and comfortable working across internal systems
- A collaborative team player who brings energy, a positive attitude, and a genuine willingness to learn and develop
- Familiarity with ship supply, marine, or supply chain industries is a definite plus - you'll hit the ground running
