About this Role
The Commercial Business Analyst will drive data-informed commercial strategy and operational excellence. This role combines analytical capabilities with commercial acumen to optimize sales performance, pricing strategies, and cross-functional alignment. Reporting to the Chief Commercial Officer (CCO), you will leverage data analytics, process optimization, and AI-enabled tools to enhance decision-making.
The ideal candidate has 35 years of experience in commercial analytics, sales operations, and/or business intelligence, with expertise in translating data into actionable insights.
Responsibilities
Commercial Performance Analytics & Reporting
- Develop and maintain dashboards to track sales performance, pipeline health, and productivity.
- Conduct root-cause analysis on win/loss trends, sales cycle efficiency, and quota attainment.
- Develop and implement personal performance trackers for all quota holders.
- Implement predictive analytics to forecast performance.
- Integrate Gen AI solutions to enhance sales analytics and reporting automation.
Sales Enablement & Process Optimization
- Optimize CRM (HubSpot) utilization through data governance and workflow improvements.
- Identify and address performance gaps through data-driven insights.
- Design and document standardized sales processes.
- Develop and maintain sales enablement assets.
Pricing & Deal Analytics
- Analyze pricing practices, discount patterns, and deal structures to maximize profitability.
- Support development of pricing models and sales compensation plans.
- Provide deal desk support through scenario modeling and ROI analysis.
Cross-Functional Business Partnering
- Serve as liaison between Sales, Finance, Marketing, and Service teams across the Ascentium platform of portfolio companies.
- Align operational processes with Ascentium platform objectives through data-driven recommendations.
- Support monthly platform business reviews with commercial leadership using actionable insights.
Change Management & Technology Adoption
- Drive adoption of new tools, processes, and analytics methodologies.
- Develop training programs and documentation to support organizational change.
- Evaluate and implement commercial technology solutions to enhance sales productivity.
Qualifications & Experience
- A business-related degree is essential for this role.
- Proficiency in Power BI, HubSpot, Excel, and data visualization tools.
- Experience with AI applications in commercial contexts.
- Financial acumen with experience in pricing analysis and deal structuring.
- Proven ability to translate complex data into executive-level insights.
- Excellent project management and stakeholder engagement skills.
- Background in Business and Corporate Services and Business Process Outsourcing.
