We are partnering with an established international trading organization seeking a Coal Trader to support its commercial trading activities across regional and global markets. This role will be responsible for sourcing, trading, market analysis, and managing supplier and customer relationships within the bulk commodities sector.
Key Responsibilities
- Monitor and analyze market trends, supply-demand dynamics, and pricing movements within the thermal coal and bulk commodities market to support trading strategies and commercial decisions.
- Source and procure thermal coal from international suppliers, establishing and maintaining long-term and reliable procurement channels.
- Evaluate supply sources, including production conditions and supply chain considerations, to optimize procurement strategy.
- Execute purchase and sales contracts, ensuring smooth transaction execution and compliance with contractual terms.
- Develop and implement regional sales and trading strategies in line with market conditions and business objectives.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers, customers, and trading partners across international markets.
- Identify and manage market, credit, and transactional risks, and implement appropriate risk mitigation strategies.
- Coordinate logistics, shipping, and delivery schedules to ensure efficient and cost-effective supply chain operations.
- Work closely with internal stakeholders including trading, operations, shipping, and finance teams to ensure smooth end-to-end trade execution.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in International Trade, Business, Marketing, Economics, or a related discipline.
- Minimum 5 years of trading experience in coal, energy, or bulk commodities with exposure to international markets.
- Strong market analysis, negotiation, and contract management skills.
- Good communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to work across different cultures and regions.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
- Self-motivated, able to work independently, and comfortable working in a fast-paced trading environment.
- Willing to travel overseas when required.
