Responsibilities
- Perform tool setting for Mazak Mill-Turn machines, including tool length and radius compensation, and manage tool offsets, tool life monitoring, and tool numbering systems.
- Ensure proper configuration of the spindle, B-axis, C-axis, and live tooling units prior to operation.
- Verify Mazatrol and EIA programs against engineering drawings before production and carry out first article setup and trial machining. Adjust cutting parameters as required to achieve stable and efficient machining performance.
- Install and accurately align chucks, collets, soft jaws, fixtures, and centers, while setting work offsets (G54-G59) to maintain proper concentricity and control runout.
- Conduct first-piece dimensional inspection using appropriate measuring instruments to ensure compliance with drawing specifications and tolerance requirements, and coordinate with QC on any dimensional or machining discrepancies.
- Provide technical support to operators during production, troubleshoot issues such as tool breakage, poor surface finish, and dimensional variation, and contribute improvement suggestions to enhance productivity and machining efficiency.
- Ensure all machine setups adhere to safety standards, assist with routine machine inspections and basic maintenance checks, and maintain cleanliness and organization of setup and tooling areas.
Requirements
- Hands-on experience operating Mazak Mill-Turn machines (such as Mazak QTE Series, X200, 3-axis or 5-axis models).
- Must be good at both turning and milling.
- Ability to interpret and understand engineering drawings, Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing(GD&T), First Article Process accurately.
- Strong competency in machine setup, alignment, and troubleshooting.
- Strong English communication skills to liaise with production and QC teams.
