Responsibilities:
- Responsible for tool setting, tool length and radius offset setting for mill-turn machines.
- Set and manage tool offset, tool life, and tool numbering.
- Ensure correct set up of spindle, B-Axis, C-Axis, and live tooling.
- Check programs against drawings before production
- Conduct first article setup and trial cutting.
- Adjust cutting parameters to ensure stable machining.
- Install and align chucks, collets, soft jaws, fixtures, and centers.
- Set work offsets (G54-G59) and ensure proper alignment and runout control.
- Measure first-off parts using appropriate measuring instruments.
- Ensure parts meet drawing and tolerance requirements.
- Communicate with QC on dimensional or machining issues.
- Support operators during product for technical issues.
- Troubleshoot machining problems such as tool breakage, surface finish issues, or dimensional drift.
- Provide feedback for continuous improvement.
- Ensure machine set up complies with safety standards.
- Assist with daily machine checks and basic maintenance checks.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of setup and tool areas.
Requirements:
- Experience with mill-turn machines (Mazak/ Fanuc).
- Ability to read and understand engineering drawings.
- Strong setup, alignment, and troubleshooting skills.
