CNC MACHINIST

Our client is looking for a dynamic and commercially driven Team Leader to be part of their growing team in the marine industry.

In this role, you will lead business development efforts, strengthen key client relationships, and drive project opportunities, including drydock, cross-selling, and retrofit solutions.

We are seeking someone with proven leadership experience, strong industry expertise, and a well-established network in the marine sector. The successful candidate will be confident in leading a team while actively pursuing and securing new business opportunities.

Key Responsibilities

- Examine customer drawings to identify discrepancies or required clarifications before production begins

- Create machining layouts and toolpaths using Mastercam (experience with FeatureCAM is a plus)

- Contribute to process improvement and optimization initiatives

- Develop CNC programs and enhance existing ones to improve productivity archive validated programs after First Article approval

- Select suitable cutting tools, feeds, and speeds design machining fixtures as needed

- Conduct root cause analysis on machining issues and implement corrective actions

- Generate setup documentation, inspection sketches, and tooling requirements for all jobs

- Interpret engineering data and convert it into CAM-ready programs

- Oversee program execution to ensure accuracy, safety, and compliance with specifications

- Provide technical guidance to suppliers regarding drawings and machining requirements

Requirements

- Diploma or Degree in Mechanical or Manufacturing Engineering

- Strong knowledge of machine tools, metalworking processes, and workplace safety

- At least 2 years of CNC programming experience, preferably in the Oil & Gas industry

- Proficient in milling and turning operations

- Solid foundation in computer programming, algebra, trigonometry, and physics

- Good communication and literacy skills with strong attention to detail

- Well-organized and capable of working independently

- Familiarity with CAD/CAM, CNC programming, and Lean Manufacturing principles
