Job Description
We are looking for an experienced Cloud SPECIALIST with strong expertise in Oracle and other relational databases, combined with hands-on experience in cloud environments such as AWS and Azure. The role involves designing, migrating, and optimizing enterprise data platforms, ensuring high availability, security, and performance. The ideal candidate will bring both technical depth and the ability to engage with clients to deliver scalable cloud-based database solutions.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design and implement Oracle and SQL Server database solutions in cloud and hybrid environments.
- Support database services across AWS (RDS, Aurora, EC2, S3) and Azure (SQL Database, Managed Instance).
- Plan and execute migrations from on-premises Oracle/SQL databases to cloud platforms with minimal downtime.
- Architect and manage backup, recovery, and disaster recovery strategies using tools such as RMAN, Data Guard, and AlwaysOn.
- Optimize performance through indexing, query tuning, and proactive monitoring.
- Automate provisioning, patching, and maintenance using scripting (PowerShell, Shell, or Python).
- Collaborate with developers, architects, and business stakeholders to align database architectures with application requirements.
- Provide advisory services on database modernization, consolidation, and cloud adoption strategies.
- Draft SOPs, technical documentation, and architecture diagrams for operational readiness.
- Deliver incident management, troubleshooting, and problem resolution for critical database environments.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
- 6+ years of database administration and solutioning experience, with strong focus on Oracle and SQL Server.
- Proven experience with AWS and Azure cloud database services.
- Solid understanding of database high availability, clustering, and replication.
- Strong skills in backup, recovery, and disaster recovery planning.
- Hands-on experience in database performance tuning and capacity planning.
- Knowledge of automation and scripting for database operations.
- Excellent communication and consulting skills to engage effectively with clients and technical teams.
Nice to Have:
- Exposure to PostgreSQL, MySQL, or Sybase in enterprise environments.
- Familiarity with containerized database deployments (Kubernetes, Docker).
- Experience with database monitoring and observability tools.
