About the Role
Akkodis is looking for an experienced Cloud Security Engineer to join our Enterprise Services team in Singapore. You will support enterprise customers in designing, implementing and maintaining cloud-based application security solutions.
The role focuses on Cloud Web Application Firewall (CWAF), application security and traffic troubleshooting, with strong preference for hands-on Imperva Cloud WAF experience. Experience with other leading WAF platforms such as Akamai, Cloudflare, F5 Distributed Cloud or Radware will also be considered.
You will work closely with customers, solution architects, cloud engineers and security teams to deliver secure, reliable and scalable application security solutions.
Key Responsibilities
Cloud & Application Security
- Deploy, configure and manage Cloud Web Application Firewall (CWAF) solutions, preferably Imperva Cloud WAF.
- Configure and maintain security policies to protect web applications against OWASP Top 10, Layer 7 attacks, DDoS, bot and API-related threats.
- Monitor and investigate security events, alerts and incidents, recommending appropriate remediation actions.
- Support the onboarding, implementation and optimisation of cloud security services.
Application Traffic & Troubleshooting
- Analyse and troubleshoot end-to-end application traffic flows.
- Perform root-cause analysis for application performance, availability and security issues.
- Troubleshoot customer web traffic and security-related issues across application delivery environments.
- Work with customers and internal technical teams to improve application security and service reliability.
Customer & Service Support
- Provide technical advice and guidance on application security best practices.
- Communicate technical issues and solutions clearly to customers and stakeholders.
- Identify opportunities for service improvement and operational efficiency.
- Stay current with emerging application, cloud and cybersecurity technologies.
Requirements
- Degree or Diploma in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, Information Technology or a related discipline.
- Minimum 3 years of experience in Network Security, Cloud Security, Application Security or Managed Security Services.
- Strong understanding of:
- TCP/IP and networking fundamentals
- DNS
- HTTP/HTTPS
- SSL/TLS
- Web application security
- Cloud application architectures
- Security incident analysis and troubleshooting
Hands-on experience with one or more CWAF/WAF platforms, preferably:
- Imperva Cloud WAF
- Akamai
- Cloudflare
- F5 Distributed Cloud
- Radware
- AWS WAF / Azure WAF or similar platforms
- Experience analysing application traffic and security events.
- Strong troubleshooting, problem-solving and customer communication skills.
Preferred Skills
- Experience with CDN, DNS, DDoS protection and API security solutions.
- Exposure to SIEM and security monitoring tools.
- Familiarity with AWS, Microsoft Azure or GCP.
- Basic scripting or automation skills using Python, PowerShell, Bash or APIs.
- Relevant security certifications such as CISSP, CCSP, Security+, AWS Security Specialty, Azure Security Engineer or Imperva certifications will be advantageous.
