Cloud Platform Lead

We are partnered with an established financial services organisation to hire a Cloud Platform Lead. This role focuses on building and running a scalable, secure cloud platform on Azure. You will drive platform engineering, DevOps, and automation capabilities across a hybrid environment.

This is a hands on role with ownership of platform stability, standards, and automation maturity. The environment is still evolving, so you will play a key role in shaping and scaling the platform.

Responsibilities

• Own the design, build, and operations of the cloud platform across IaaS and PaaS

• Drive adoption of Azure native services to support scalable and secure platform capabilities

• Lead the DevOps platform, with a strong focus on Azure DevOps and CI/CD enablement

• Ensure pipelines are reliable, standardised, and operating effectively across application teams

• Build and scale infrastructure and platform automation. Move from manual operations to automated workflows

• Manage hybrid container platforms across cloud and on prem environments

• Support and optimise container orchestration platforms such as OpenShift or Kubernetes

• Define and enforce platform standards, architecture patterns, and operational best practices

• Partner with application teams, architects, and regional stakeholders to deliver platform capabilities

• Oversee platform operations, including performance, availability, and incident management

• Support identity and access management initiatives across the cloud platform, including CIAM use cases

Requirements

• Strong experience in cloud platform engineering or platform operations roles

• Deep expertise in Azure and Azure native services. This is a must have

• Proven experience managing DevOps platforms, especially Azure DevOps

• Strong experience with CI/CD pipelines, including governance and reliability at scale

• Hands on experience with Infrastructure as Code using Terraform, ARM, or similar tools

• Experience managing container platforms such as Kubernetes or OpenShift. OpenShift is a strong advantage

• Solid scripting and automation skills using Python, Bash, or PowerShell

• Experience building or improving automation capabilities in low maturity environments

• Strong understanding of cloud security, networking, and enterprise platform standards

• Exposure to identity and access management solutions. Experience with Ping Identity is a plus

• Strong stakeholder management skills and ability to work across regional teams
