Position Overview
We are seeking a skilled professional to spearhead the transition of legacy IT setups from traditional data centers to a robust, secure cloud ecosystem utilizing advanced virtualization technologies. This role involves overseeing the deployment and ongoing management of cloud-based systems, ensuring seamless operations for modern applications.
Key Responsibilities
- Guide the migration process of IT assets to a virtualized cloud environment, leveraging foundational virtualization platforms.
- Install, customize, and sustain core virtualization elements such as storage solutions, networking tools, management consoles, and orchestration software.
- Establish and oversee container orchestration systems for efficient application hosting and scaling.
- Employ automation frameworks and continuous integration tools to streamline provisioning and deployment workflows.
- Handle administration and issue resolution for various operating systems, including server environments and application hosting services like Java-based servers, open-source web servers, and Microsoft web platforms.
- Track performance metrics, resource allocation, and operational status in virtualized and containerized setups.
- Apply robust security protocols and coordinate vulnerability assessments to align with industry standards.
- Identify and fix intricate technical challenges in infrastructure and software layers.
- Work collaboratively with central IT groups and security oversight teams, offering regular insights, suggestions, and assistance during incidents.
- Evolve into a role focused on continuous enhancement, fine-tuning, and safeguarding of cloud resources after initial setup.
Essential Qualifications
- Proven expertise in deploying and maintaining virtualization foundations, container management platforms, and orchestration technologies.
- Skilled in automation suites and pipeline tools for resource management and software rollout.
- In-depth experience managing diverse server operating systems, along with common web hosting applications.
- Knowledge of monitoring solutions for cloud and container infrastructures (e.g., open-source metrics collectors and visualization dashboards).
- Solid grasp of cybersecurity fundamentals, including fortification techniques and evaluation methods.
- Background in secure IT operations, preferably in regulated sectors, with readiness for background checks.
- Strong analytical abilities, effective communication in multiple languages (including English and another regional language if applicable), and teamwork skills.
- Valued certifications in areas like virtualization, container administration, or information security.
Preferred Skills and Experience
- Accredited qualifications in security (e.g., information security professional), virtualization (e.g., certified professional), or container technologies (e.g., administrator or developer).
- Direct involvement in security evaluations and reinforcement in protected settings.
- History of overseeing systems in sensitive or controlled facilities.
- Real-world application in building and sustaining cloud architectures.
- Proficiency with integration and delivery pipelines in live operational contexts.
