- CI/CD Pipelines: Build and manage CI/CD pipelines, enabling continuous delivery and improving deployment speed and reliability.
- Cost Optimization: Regularly monitor cloud expenditures using AWS Cost Explorer and recommend best practices for efficient cloud resource usage.
- Developer Enablement: Work with developers to understand their pain points and propose tools, workflows, or changes that streamline the adoption of cloud technologies and improve their overall experience.
- Monitoring & Observability: Implement monitoring and alerting strategies with Datadog, focusing on both infrastructure health and application performance to help teams proactively address issues.
- Infrastructure Governance: Ensure that infrastructure changes are governed correctly across all environments, maintaining compliance and security best practices.
- Modernization: Lead efforts to modernize legacy infrastructure by designing and implementing cloud-native, serverless or containerized architectures, improving scalability, performance, and maintainability.
- Code Review & Collaboration: Review and approve Pull Requests for infrastructure code, ensuring that best practices and quality standards are maintained.
Required Skills & Experience:
- AWS Expertise: 3-5 years of hands-on experience with AWS services including compute, network and storage
- Serverless Architecture: Strong experience with serverless technologies like AWS Lambda, API Gateway, and Step Functions for building scalable and efficient solutions.
- Infrastructure as Code (IaC): Proficiency with CDKTF or other tools like Terraform for automating infrastructure provisioning.
- CI/CD Pipelines: Expertise in building, managing, and optimizing CI/CD pipelines using GitHub Actions or similar tools.
- Cost Management: Ability to monitor and optimize cloud costs, including proposing and implementing recommendations.
- Developer Enablement: Experience understanding and identifying tools or processes that improve the developer experience, helping teams adopt best practices and new technologies effectively.
- Monitoring with Datadog: Experience implementing monitoring, logging, and alerting strategies with Datadog (or other similar observability tools) for proactive performance management and issue resolution.
- Code Quality: Comfortable reviewing and approving Pull Requests, ensuring that infrastructure code meets quality standards.
- Independent Worker: Ability to work autonomously, manage your own projects, and take ownership of your tasks.
- Security Mindset: Understand key security concepts including maintaining confidentiality, integrity and availability of technologies and systems, and securing CI/CD pipelines
