Cloud Engineer

Responsibilities

• Design, deploy, configure, and manage cloud infrastructure and services.
• Monitor cloud environments to ensure availability, performance, and reliability.
• Perform routine maintenance activities, including patching, upgrades, backups, and system updates.
• Troubleshoot and resolve cloud infrastructure, connectivity, and performance issues.
• Support infrastructure automation and configuration management initiatives.
• Use scripting and automation to improve operational efficiency and reduce manual tasks.
• Monitor system logs, alerts, and performance metrics and address potential issues proactively.
• Implement and maintain cloud security controls, access management, and data protection measures.
• Support security assessments, vulnerability remediation, and compliance requirements.
• Work closely with development, infrastructure, and security teams to support cloud-based applications.
• Maintain technical documentation for cloud environments, processes, configurations, and issue resolutions.
• Participate in on-call or production support activities when required

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field.
• 2–3 years of experience in cloud operations, cloud infrastructure, or a similar technical role.
• Hands-on experience with AWS and/or Microsoft Azure.
• Knowledge of cloud infrastructure, deployment, configuration, and resource management.
• Understanding of Infrastructure as Code (IaC) principles and tools.
• Familiarity with scripting and automation using Python, PowerShell, Bash, or similar technologies.
• Experience with monitoring, logging, and alerting tools.
• Understanding of cloud security, including access controls, encryption, and security best practices.
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities.
• Good communication, collaboration, and technical documentation skills.
• Good to have: Exposure to Python libraries such as Pandas and PySpark, R programming, and frameworks such as React or Flask.
• Cloud certifications such as AWS Cloud Practitioner or Microsoft Azure Fundamentals are an advantage.
