Job Summary
The Cloud Engineer is responsible for deploying, automating, and maintaining secure and scalable cloud infrastructure across enterprise environments. This role contributes to solution design by ensuring operational feasibility, automation readiness, and alignment with governance and security standards. Working closely with crossfunctional teams, the Cloud Engineer transforms approved designs into resilient, costeffective cloud environments that support business objectives and longterm scalability. The position requires strong technical expertise, automation capability, and effective collaboration to deliver compliant, efficient, and secure cloud services.
Responsibilities
- Design and implement secure, scalable, and reliable cloud infrastructure solutions that align with business objectives and compliance standards
- Manage and monitor cloud environments to optimize performance, availability, and cost efficiency
- Automate cloud deployments using scripting and Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools such as PowerShell, Terraform, and Bicep to improve operational efficiency
- Enforce governance policies, security standards, and organizational compliance requirements within cloud environments
- Lead incident response activities and perform root cause analysis for cloud-related issues to enhance system resilience
- Maintain and enhance cloud security protocols and guardrails to protect enterprise assets
- Collaborate with development, operations, and architecture teams to integrate and optimize cloud services for seamless delivery
- Prepare and maintain comprehensive documentation for cloud architecture, automation workflows, and operational procedures to support knowledge sharing and compliance
Required competencies and certifications
- AWS Certified Solutions Architect - Associate or Professional
- Microsoft Certified: Azure Solutions Architect Expert
Preferred competencies and qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent experience
- 3-5 years of experience in cloud computing and infrastructure management
- Hands-on experience with automation, Infrastructure as Code, and CI/CD practices
- Proficiency with cloud platforms including AWS and Azure multi-cloud experience preferred
- Expertise in Infrastructure as Code tools such as Terraform, Bicep, and ARM templates
- Proficiency in scripting languages including PowerShell and Python
- Experience with CI/CD tools such as Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions, and Jenkins
- Knowledge of cloud security, compliance, and remediation workflows
- Familiarity with monitoring tools such as Azure Monitor, CloudWatch, and Sentinel
- Ability to collaborate effectively with solution architects to translate requirements into scalable cloud designs
- Strong troubleshooting, incident response, and problem-solving skills
- Ability to produce structured, governance-aligned technical documentation
- Strong communication and cross-team collaboration skills
- Ability to work in an office environment using standard office equipment
- Flexibility to collaborate with distributed teams and participate in remote meetings across time zones
