Cloud Architect (Azure)

Job Description

This is a customer facing role, working on Project Delivery and alignment of services to the delivery team. You will own the Azure Cloud Infrastructure technical customer engagements including architectural design sessions, specific implementation projects and/or pilots.

The ideal candidate will have experience in customer-facing roles and success leading deep technical architecture discussions with senior customer executives, Enterprise Architects, IT Management.

What will you do

- Apply technical knowledge and customer insights to create a modernization roadmap. Architect solutions to meet business and IT needs, ensuring technical viability of new projects and successful deployments, while orchestrating key resources and infusing key Infrastructure technologies (e.g. Windows and Linux IaaS, Security, Networking, etc)

- Ensure all solutions exhibit high levels of performance, security, scalability, maintainability, and appropriate reusability and reliability upon deployment

- Assess the Customers knowledge of Azure platform and overall cloud readiness during engagement

- Apply Azure Cloud Adoption Framework, Design Patterns and Well-Architected Framework to solution design during pre-sales stage

- Collaborate with other Cloud Solution Architects in developing complex end-to-end Enterprise solutions on the Microsoft Azure platform

- Ability to define the Architecture for an Azure and Azure Stack deployment and drive design is key so that they can contribute and deliver related projects

- Performs the full lifecycle management (analysis, design, development, testing, implementation, integration and maintenance) of the current Azure Stack cloud as well as contribute with architecture, procurement, deployment, production, and administration of additional scale units, availability zones, and disconnected deployments of Azure Stack.

- Be able to work with implementation team to handhold them with solution design and handshake the agreed solution to the delivery architect for implementation

- Maintain technical skills and knowledge of market trends and competitive insights; collaborate and share with the technical community

Qualifications

- 5+ years of success in consultative/complex technical sales and deployment projects, architecture, design, implementation for Cloud

- At least ten (10) years experience in architecting IT Projects (may not be cloud related) on a major scale e.g more than 200 VMs or complex end-end system integration across various technologies

- Problem Solving. Ability to solve customer problems through cloud technologies

- Collaboration and Communication. Acknowledged for driving decisions collaboratively, resolving conflicts and ensuring follow through with exceptional verbal and written communication skills. Ability to orchestrate, lead, and influence virtual teams, ensuring successful implementation of customer projects. Presentation skills with a high degree of comfort with both large and small audiences

- Technical

- Enterprise-scale technical experience with cloud and hybrid infrastructures, architecture designs, migrations, and technology management required

- Subject matter expertise in one or more of the following:

- Deep domain expertise of cloud infrastructure solutions (i.e. Windows and Linux IaaS, BCDR, Security, Management, Storage, Networking, OSS) Expert Knowledge in Azure Stack would be advantageous

- Competitive Landscape. Knowledge of other cloud platforms would be advantageous
