CLOTHING ALTERATION MACHINIST

Core Responsibilities

• Alteration and Repair: Resize existing curtains, including cutting to length, hemming, resizing, and re-stitching to new specifications.
• Machine Operation: Efficiently use industrial sewing machines (e.g., lockstitch, overlocker) to handle various fabrics.
• Fabric Manipulation: Work with various, often heavy or delicate, curtain fabrics, linings, and interlinings.
• Quality Control: Inspect finished work for defects, ensuring high-quality, precise, and neat finishes.
• Measurements: Accurately measure and mark fabrics based on work orders or client requirements.
