Overview:
The Clinical Research Coordinator will support multi-cohort Human Biomedical Research studies conducted across outpatient clinics within NUHS. This role focuses on subject recruitment, study coordination, and delivery of key research milestones. The coordinator will work closely with Principal Investigators (PIs), clinicians, and multidisciplinary teams to ensure smooth execution of study protocols.
Responsibilities:
A) Subject Recruitment and Blood Collection
- Conduct subject recruitment, appointment scheduling, and blood collection for testing and biobanking.
- Screen patients against study eligibility criteria and clearly explain study objectives in layman terms.
- Obtain informed consent, administer study questionnaires, and perform participant follow-ups.
- Collaborate with clinicians, clinic staff, and internal departments to facilitate recruitment and study activities.
- Manage recruitment timelines, set achievable targets, and ensure timely delivery of study milestones.
B) Research Documentation/Administrative duties.
- Support day-to-day research operations, including data collection, entry, and management.
- Extract relevant data from electronic health records and maintain accurate study databases (e.g., REDCap).
- Set up and maintain investigator site files, including consent documentation and sample tracking records.
- Ensure compliance with study protocols, institutional policies, and regulatory requirements (e.g., HBRA).
- Coordinate with investigators, clinicians, and laboratory teams to operationalise workflows across multiple departments.
- Prepare documentation for audits and inspections.
- Support submission of IRB/DSRB applications, study amendments, and annual reports.
- Uphold high standards of professionalism, data integrity, and confidentiality.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Principal Investigator
Job Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Science, Public Health, Social Science, or a related field.
- Fresh graduates are welcome; prior experience in subject recruitment, healthcare, or customer-facing roles is advantageous.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to engage diverse patient populations.
- Proactive, accountable, and able to work both independently and collaboratively.
- Meticulous attention to detail and strong data management skills.
- Comfortable working across interdisciplinary teams and clinical settings.
- Bilingual proficiency (Mandarin/Malay/Tamil) is preferred to support patient engagement.
- Willingness to travel across NUHS institutions and external study sites.
- Familiarity with Good Clinical Practice (GCP) and the Human Biomedical Research Act (HBRA) is an advantage.
