As a Claims Manager, you will be responsible for the following duties:
- Prepare and deliver claims reports for senior management and head office review
- Oversee all team-managed claim bookings, ensuring adherence to delegated authority limits
- Evaluate complex and disputed claims, making informed decisions on coverage, reserving, and settlement
- Interpret and apply policy wordings across multiple lines of business, including property & casualty, engineering, and marine cargo
- Lead and mentor the team to enhance overall claims expertise and operational competency
- Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders such as cedants, brokers, insurers, reinsurers, consultants, and external experts to collaboratively resolve claims
- Ensure claims handling processes are in full compliance with regulatory requirements
- Compile and present claims data to support both internal reviews and external audits
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in a relevant field or discipline
- Possession of professional qualifications such as ACII, ANZIIF, CILA, or equivalent
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in insurance or reinsurance claims, including prior experience in team leadership or management
