Job Summary
A Civil Engineering Draughtsman creates detailed technical drawings, maps, and 3D models for infrastructure projects using CAD software. They translate engineer sketches into blueprints, ensure regulatory compliance, coordinate with teams, and maintain documentation.
Responsibilities
- Create detailed technical drawings, maps, and 3D models for infrastructure projects such as roads, drainage, sewage, and structural elements using AutoCAD, Civil 3D, Tekla, Blue beam, and BIM software
- Translate engineering and architectural sketches into accurate, actionable blueprints to support project execution
- Ensure all drawings comply with relevant building regulations and codes to maintain project standards
- Coordinate and collaborate effectively with project teams and stakeholders to align design outputs with project requirements
- Perform revisions and produce as-built drawings reflecting changes during construction phases
- Maintain organized and up-to-date drawing documentation for project tracking and reference
- Conduct site visits to verify design accuracy and gather information for drawing updates
Required competencies and certifications
- Strong expertise in AutoCAD, Civil 3D, Tekla, Blue beam, and BIM software
- Ability to read and interpret engineering and architectural sketches
- High accuracy in measurements, calculations, and notations
- Effective communication skills to coordinate with various stakeholders and work collaboratively in teams
