Job Title: Civil Engineer

Job Summary:

Responsible for planning, designing, supervising, and managing civil construction projects. The role involves ensuring that construction work is completed safely, on time, within budget, and according to approved drawings, specifications, and quality standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare and review engineering drawings, BOQs, estimates, and technical specifications.
• Supervise construction activities and ensure work follows approved designs.
• Coordinate with architects, contractors, consultants, suppliers, and project teams.
• Monitor project progress, quality, cost, and schedule.
• Conduct site inspections and resolve technical/construction issues.
• Ensure compliance with building codes, safety regulations, and project standards.
• Perform quantity calculations and material requirements.
• Prepare daily/weekly/monthly progress reports.
• Maintain project documentation and records.
• Check the quality of materials and workmanship.
• Assist with project planning, budgeting, and procurement.
• Use engineering and construction software for drawings, estimation, and project management.

Required Skills

• Strong knowledge of civil engineering and construction practices.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings.
• Knowledge of RCC, structural works, roads, drainage, foundations, and other relevant construction activities.
• Quantity surveying, estimation, and BOQ preparation.
• Good knowledge of construction materials and quality control.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD and preferably MS Excel/MS Project.
• Knowledge of relevant building codes, standards, and safety procedures.
• Problem-solving and decision-making skills.
• Good communication and teamwork skills.
• Ability to supervise contractors and site workers.
• Time management and project coordination skills.

Educational Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree/Diploma in Civil Engineering from a recognized institution.
• Relevant professional certification or registration may be preferred depending on the position.
• Knowledge of local construction regulations and standards.

Experience

• Experienced candidates: 1–3+ years of relevant experience in construction, infrastructure, building, or project engineering.
