Job Summary
The Civil Construction Project Engineer plans, coordinates, and oversees civil construction projects to ensure safe, timely, and budget-compliant delivery while meeting quality and client standards.
Responsibilities
- Plan, coordinate, and supervise civil construction project activities to achieve project milestones and quality standards
- Review project drawings, technical specifications, and engineering documents to ensure accuracy and compliance
- Collaborate with project managers, site managers, supervisors, subcontractors, and consultants to align project objectives and resolve issues
- Monitor project progress regularly to ensure work is completed according to schedule and budget
- Conduct site inspections to verify construction quality and compliance with design and safety requirements
- Enforce adherence to safety regulations and company safety policies on site to maintain a safe working environment
- Prepare and maintain detailed project reports, documentation, and progress updates for stakeholders
- Manage site materials, equipment, and manpower to optimize resource utilization and maintain workflow
- Assist in diagnosing and resolving technical issues and site construction problems promptly to minimize delays
- Ensure project deliverables meet client requirements and engineering standards through continuous quality control
Required competencies and certifications
- Bachelor's Degree or Diploma in Civil Engineering or related field
- Minimum 3-5 years of experience in civil construction or project engineering
- Proficient knowledge of construction methods, materials, and project management principles
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and technical specifications accurately
- Good understanding of construction safety standards and regulations
Preferred competencies and qualifications
- Experience in building construction, infrastructure, or structural projects
- Knowledge of construction planning and project scheduling techniques
- Familiarity with AutoCAD, project management software, or engineering tools
